The Central Statistics Office (GUS) announced that the number of homes completed in July 2011 dropped by 15.6% compared to the corresponding period of 2010 and stood at 9,846 units. Compared to June 2011, the increase was 2.8%.
There were 14,862 home starts in July 2011, down by 9% year on year and down by 6.8% relative to June 2011. The number of housing units for which construction permits were issued decreased by 0.7% from July 2010, to 16,526. Relative to June 2011, this figure represents an 11.7% decrease.
