More firms in Lodz SEZ

Four companies have been awarded licences to operate in the Lodz Special Economic Zone. They have announced plans for undertakings worth the combined sum of more than PLN 117m (€26.1m).
The IT company
Ericpol intends to set up its own seat in Lodz, where 500 of its current staff members will be based together with another 300 new employees. The new headquarters will be a four-storey edifice approximately 8,000 m² in size with an underground parking garage. The investment will require estimated capital expenditure of around PLN 40m (€8.9m). The work is scheduled to begin in Q1 2012 and be completed by the final quarter of 2013.
In turn, the Tomaszow Mazowiecki company
Izo-Balex will launch production of polyurethane thermal insulation tiles with a stiff and plastic lining. The project will cost PLN 38m (€8.5m) and create 41 new jobs.
Meanwhile, the firm
CKM Technologie intends to build a plant in Zdunska Wola that will produce PVC profiles with high thermal insulation properties intended for the window industry. The investment will require investment outlays of at least PLN 23.4m (€5.2m) and the new facility will take on a minimum of 25 employees.
Finally, the company
St-Majewski is planning to construct a production-warehouse complex with office section in Pruszkow. The complex will have a total floor area of roughly 5,000 m². The unit will turn out innovative crayons with a triangular profile. The investment will cost PLN 16m (€3.6m) and the company promises to maintain its current workforce of 138 up till 2018 and also to employ additional 20 people.
