Pilkington IGP plant to be enlarged
2012-01-13
NSG Group is preparing to expand the
Pilkington IGP plant in Skierniewice. The investment will significantly increase the factory's output capacity.
The investor, which owns a number of firms operating in Poland -
Pilkington IGP,
Pilkington Automotive Poland and
Pilkington Polska - plans to add a further 2,100 m² to its existing production space and launch a new glass tempering line. Once the upgrade is completed, the factory's gross warehouse-production space will total 10,600 m². As a consequence, the factory will become one of the biggest construction glass manufacturing units in the group. The Skierniewice factory manufactures and processes construction glass and the investment will boost output of highly-specialised fire-resistant glass, which the group only produces in this plant. The renovation and expansion of the factory began at the end of 2011 and once this stage is completed work will begin on assembling a tempering furnace together with essential installations. According to the project timetable, the work is to be completed by September 2012.
