Biuro Inwestycji Kapitalowych solidifies position in retail property market

Biuro Inwestycji Kapitalowych (BIK), a development company which has been chiefly involved in warehouse space projects, intends to consolidate its position on the retail property market.
To date, BIK has completed the Retail Park located at gen. Fieldorfa Nila Street in Pulawy with floor area of as much as 2,700 m², and it plans to complete further three or four similar projects. In mid-2012, the construction of the Dzierzoniow shopping centre is expected to commence. The project provides for the construction of a shopping centre with a floor area of approximately 5,000 m² in the city centre. The shopping centre is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2013 at the latest. Moreover, the company’s management informed that the developer is taking steps to acquire further two or three locations to be used for its new retail projects. The projects planned to be taken over are at various stages of completion. Some of the projects have just obtained building permits, while others are already subject to commercialisation activities. BIK is mainly interested in complexes not larger than 10,000 m² of floor area, located in central and southern Poland. Several projects are expected to be launched already in 2012. The company plans to sell some of its completed commercial properties and to leave the remaining ones under its own management.
