Two new factories in Siemianowice Slaskie
2006-04-11
US concern Johnson Controls and Ugine & ALZ, a member of the Arcelor group, are both to build plants in Siemianowice Slaskie in 2006 at a total cost of more than €45m.
Both facilities will be erected in Siemianowice’s Bangow district and will be located in the Katowice Special Economic Zone. Johnson Controls, a global giant specialising in the manufacture of systems for the automotive industry as well as automation systems for buildings, is to build a large €35m car part production facility that will turn out seat frames and pressings for car bodies.
In turn, Ugine & ALZ, a European producer of stainless steel and part of the Arcelor group, will build its own €10m steel processing centre in the same neighbourhood. The centre will produce sheet metal of the highest quality for car producers and home appliances. During talks with the investors Siemianowice’s local authorities agreed to expand approach roads leading to the plots.
