Andrzej Aumiller appointed new Minister of Construction
2006-11-07
Andrzej Aumiller has been named the country’s new Minister of Construction. To date, the post had been held by Antoni Jaszczak. Both represent the Self-Defence party.
According to Mr Aumiller, the Ministry’s priority tasks are to prepare a comprehensive housing programme and to more effectively use EU funds for building projects. This will involve drafting a new statute which should take into account the different sectors of the construction industry: developers, individual home builders, co-operatives and municipalities. The new minister believes that the act should cover the 2007-2013 period, i.e. the same timeframe as the budget of the European Union. He also stressed the need to come up with various definitions for social, municipal, co-operative and commercial construction.
