Strabag's acquisition plans
2004-04-06
Strabag, a German-Austrian building company present on the Polish market, is considering acquisition of a firm in the country. A decision is to be taken in April. Unofficially, Strabag, which operates mainly in the road construction sector, is interested in PRM Mosty-Lodz, a firm specializing in bridge construction. PMR Mosty-Lodz together with Strabag has recently won a contract to build a ring road in Rawa Mazowiecka. The sum of the contract amounts to €6.41m.
Strabag is considering a take-over to increase its production capacity. If the company does not take over a company, it will set up its own bridge department.
Strabag posted revenue of PLN 1.15bn in 2003, compared with PLN 570m in 2002. Almost 80% of this revenue came from road infrastructure contracts.
