New plant to be built in Gdansk

The company
Weyerhaeuser intends to build a cellulose processing plant in the Maszynowa Industrial-Technology Park in Gdansk. The company has just won a tender to purchase the 10 ha of land it needs for the investment.
The plant will have a total floor area of roughly 17,000 m². It will process cellulose for the hygiene products industry. According to the investor's timetable for the project, the construction work will commence in the spring of next year and take until 2012 to complete. The new factory will provide employment for at least 45 people.
The Polish investment will be the concern's first project outside North America. The main customer for the plant's products will be Procter & Gamble.
