New hospital envisaged for Warsaw

A new pediatric hospital is to be erected behind the teaching hospital on Warsaw's Banacha Street, PAP reported.
The new institution will consist of three buildings connected together by a glass lobby. The ground floor will function as the Emergency Ward, above which will be located clinics specialising in neonatology, cardiosurgery, children's surgery, gastroenterology and nutrition, pneumonology, allergology, neonatal pathologies and congenital anomalies, and diabetology. The highest floors will be occupied by the traumatic surgery ward and the pediatrics and oncology clinic. In addition, a parking garage with room for up to 300 cars will be located under the building together with a restaurant and a rehabilitation clinic. The investment is scheduled for completion by 2014 at an estimated cost of PLN 500m (€122m).
