End-of-November deadline for technical check-ups of buildings

2009-11-16

Entrepreneurs who are owners or administrators of buildings have until 30 November to carry out technical check-ups of their properties, Rzeczpospolita reported.
Building regulations stipulate that these check-ups must be carried out by suitably authorised persons several times a year, and always when there are strong winds or rain or snow showers. In cases of severe weather posing a danger to the life and safety of people, the size of the roof or type of building is not taken into account in such check-ups. Owners and administrators who fail to carry out such check-ups will be liable to pay a fine of at least PLN 1,000 (€244). Inspections of buildings, whether with prior notification or without, can be carried out by building inspectors on the basis of permits issued by the county building inspector.
