New edifice for Warsaw University

The Faculties of Neo-Philology and Applied Linguistics of Warsaw University are to be move to a new seat in the neighbourhood of Dobra and Lipowa Streets in Powisle district,
Puls Biznesu reported.
They will be housed in a six-storey building with a useable floor area exceeding 36,000 m². The complex will also include five courtyards featuring five thematic gardens (Slavonic, German, English, French and Mediterranean), while garden with walking terraces will be located on the roof. The building will contain 100 classrooms and conference rooms, as well as a library, laboratory and computer and language labs. The investment will be divided into two stages with a combined cost of approx. PLN 235m (€57.3m). The first part of the undertaking, during which 40 classrooms will be built, is due for completion in 2011. The college has been awarded a PLN 50m (€12.2m) subsidy for this purpose.
