GM TAI: most construction tenders in Silesia

A total of 248,423 tenders were announced in 2009, 116,248 of which were made public in the construction branch. Construction tenders thus represented approx. 47% of all tenders.
According to a report prepared by Grupa Marketingowa TAI (GM TAI), 30% of construction tenders were for road engineering projects, 21% for electrical projects and a dozen or so percent for water-sewage investments and the construction of buildings and other structures. Tenders for such sectors as gas and heating, joinery, geodesy and cartography as well as roofing services were much rarer.
Most tenders were held in Slaskie (15% of the total) and Mazowieckie voivodships (14%), and the least in Lubuskie voivodship (2%). The vast majority of construction tenders in 2009 (86%) were for services or construction-assembly work and rest were for supplies. Roughly 84% of tenders were open competitions.
