PSB: building materials getting cheaper

Prices of construction materials were down in four product groups in December 2009 compared with November last year. They rose in another two and remained unchanged in five others, according to data from
Polskie Sklady Budowlane (PSB).
According to PSB, prices inched up fractionally in the case of thermal insulation (0.1%) and water-proof (0.2%) materials. On the other hand, prices dropped the most in the case of silicates (-2.2%), dry construction (-1.2%), gas concrete (-1.1%) and construction chemicals (-0.3%). Three product groups in the "other" category were slightly more expensive: cement, lime (0.6%), paint, varnishes and wallpaper (0.4%) as well as heating systems and technology, sewage, drainage and ventilation facilities (0.2%).
Polskie Sklady Budowlane sustained a 24% m-o-m drop in revenues in December 2009. Simultaneously, its revenues dipped by 6% in relation to the corresponding month of 2008. On the other hand, in 2009 as a whole the group's revenues were 0.1% higher than 12 months' previously.
