New power stations slated for Pomerania

Companies from Jan Kulczyk's investment group intend to build a gas-fired power station in Gniewino in Wejherowo County and a coal-fired power station in Rajkowy in Tczew county.
The first of these projects will be carried out by the Luxembourg-based firm
Kulczyk Investments Societe Anonyme in collaboration with the municipality, which will contribute the construction land to the company, which was specially set up for the project. Co-operation between the firm and the municipality will cover the
construction and operation of the power station. Talks are in their early stages and for the time being the investor will not disclose any more details.
In turn, the coal-fired power station will stand on a plot approx. 220 ha in size. It will have a power generating capacity of approx. 2,000 MW, and the undertaking is slated to get underway in 2012. The facility should be ready for operation by 2015 and will provide employment for up to 400 people.
