PLN 1.7bn cost estimate for S7 fragment
2010-02-08
The S7 express road between Paslek and Milomlyn in Warminsko-Mazurskie voivodship will be built by a consortium comprising the firms
Skanska and
Herman Kirchner. The investment will require outlays in excess of PLN 1.7bn (€414.2m).
The road will be a dual carriageway 36.5 km in length. The contractor will also be obliged to build service and auxilliary
roads, three road junctions (Paslek Poludnie, Maldyty and Marzewo), as well as two service stations together with petrol stations and
restaurants. The investment is slated for completion in May 2012, i.e. before the beginning of
Euro 2012.
The project is part of a wider undertaking involving the constuction of a 53 km fragment of the S7 road between Milomlyn and Olsztynek as well as a bypass around Ostroda. The investment will be completed in 2012-2013. Work will also begin this year on a 20-kilometre fragment of road between Nidzica and Napierki – this section of the S7 should be serviceable midway through 2012. There are also plans to begin building a 14-kilometre stretch of the same route between Elblag and Paslek. The investment is slated for completion in June 2011. On the other hand, a 31 km section of the S7 between Olsztynek and Nidzica as well as a ringroad around Olsztynek are already under construction. Mid-2012 is the envisaged deadline for finishing this project.
