Seven consortia keen to expand Karczemki junction

2010-02-13

Seven consortia have entered a tender to expand the Karczemki junction on the Tri-City bypass. The cheapest bid was submitted by the firm Budimex, which quoted a price of PLN 186.6m (€46.4m).
The undertaking will involve constructing a dozen or so civil engineering structures, including 13 flyovers and pedestrian footbridges, as well as adding a third lane of traffic to the Tri-City bypass along an approx. 3.5 km stretch. The bids will be checked from a legal-procedural perspective and the contractor will be chosen in March. The investment is due to get underway in April 2010 and should be completed by mid-May 2012.
