PSB: construction materials getting cheaper

Prices of construction materials fell in six product groups in January 2010 compared with December 2009, rose in two others and remained unchanged in three, according to data provided by Polskie Sklady Budowlane (PSB).
According to PSB, prices rose in the case of construction chemicals (3.1%) and silicates (1,8%). On the other hand, prices fell the most in the following product groups: dry construction (-4.1%), roof foil and covering and gutters (-1.7%), waterproof insulation (-1.3%), gas concrete (-1.2%), wood and wood derivative materials (-0.8%) and thermal insulation (-0.1%). Prices rose in two groups in the "other" category: heat, sewage, drainage and ventilation installations and technology (1.6%) as well as cement and lime (0.3%). On the other hand, paint, wallpaper and varnish were cheaper (-0.9%), and prices in the other four groups remained stable.
Polskie Składy Budowlane reported a 25% drop in revenues in January 2010 compared with December 2009. Simultaneously, revenues were down 21% in relation to the corresponding period of 2009.
