New bridge over the Vistula

The construction of a new bridge over the Vistula in Kwidzyn will begin in June 2010. A tender has just been announced to find a contractor for the undertaking,
Gazeta Wyborcza informed its readers.
The planned crossing will form part of national road No. 90 and will connect Kwidzyn with the A1 motorway. The suspension bridge will be more than 800 metres in length and include two lanes of traffic and an emergency lane. There are also plans to construct a new road almost 12 km in length connecting the town with the A1. This project will require estimated outlays of PLN 200m (€50m) and will be in place by September 2012.
