Government working on a plan to assist residential construction?
2010-03-02
The Lower House of the Polish Parliament (Sejm) has given the government to the end of June 2010 to prepare a programme to support residential construction in the coming decade,
Gazeta Wyborcza reported.
According to the daily, the programme is to contain guidelines for, for example, implementation of a system of accumulating savings for residential purposes within the framework of construction-savings accounts, as well as of commercial support for rental housing. Representatives of the residential construction sector are eager to see the government develop solutions which would address, for example, problems related to tenants who withhold with rent payments, while the banking sector is hoping for the implementation of legislation which would regulate relations between developers, clients and financial institutions in the event of a developer bankruptcy.
