Tender in progress for elevated road in Bydgoszcz
2010-03-04
The City Road and Public Transport Authority has announced a tender to find a contractor to build an elevated road in Bydgoszcz. The structure will link the lower and upper parts of the town.
The bridge will be around 1.5 km in length and will connect Wzgorze Wolnosci with the lower-lying city centre. It will support a road with two lanes of traffic in each direction and there are also plans to lay approach roads.
The investment will cost PLN 150m (€38.4m), half of which will be allocated out of EU sources. The construction work is scheduled to begin midway through 2010 and the structure should be ready for service in three years.
