Philharmonic will be built in Szczecin
2010-03-05
Szczecin's local government has begun preparing the groundwork for the Mieczyslaw Karlowicz Szczecin Philharmonic. A tender for the project, estimated to be worth PLN 130m (€33.3m), has just been announced.
The building, to be located on Malopolska Street, will be a five-storey edifice with an underground car park. The tender will be a restricted procedure divided into two stages. In stage one seven candidates will be chosen and invited to submit bids. When choosing the eventual contractor the authorities will take into account technical, economic and financial criteria. The investment will benefit from an EU subsidy of PLN 45m (€11.5m). The project was designed by the Barcelona-based architectural studio of Barozzi Veiga.
