Antoninek road junction in Poznan to be refurbished

2010-03-05

The Antoninek road junction in Poznan is to be rebuilt. The investment will require outlays in the region of PLN 87.8m (€22.5m) and the general contractor for the undertaking will be a consortium headed by Warbud.
The project will involve dismantling the overpass currently standing on the site and building three other civil engineering structures in its place, which together will form a new road junction. The first of the planned structures will pass over the E20 main railway line and the second will be built above the connecting road heading towards Baltycka Street and Bogucin. The third structure will be an elevated road above Warszawska Street. The investment will take two years to complete from the moment an agreement is signed with a contractor. The city is hoping to obtain EU funding for the project, which is included on the reserve list of the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme.
