Over PLN 46m in EU funding for new Gdansk Street

The local authorities in Gdansk are planning to build a new street called Nowa Lodzka in the districts of Gdansk Chelm and Gdansk Poludnie. The investment will cost PLN 92.5m (€23.7m), more than PLN 46m (€11.8m) of which will be provided by the EU.
The new street will begin at the intersection of Warszawska, Lostowicka, Witosa and Wilanowska Streets and end at the crossroads with Swietokrzyska Street. It will be a dual carriageway with two lanes in each direction. The launch date for the project is pencilled in for July 2010 and the construction work should be finished by September 2012.
