Energopol: acquisitions before end of 2010
2010-03-08
Energopol-Południe is planning to acquire a number of construction firms this year. It is currently involved in talks with two businesses, the company's senior management announced, as cited by
Parkiet.
These transactions may be financed by either a share or a bond issue, in addition to which the company also has PLN 27m (€6.9m) in available cash at its disposal, which may be spent on this aim. Energopol wants to acquire construction companies so as to act as general contractor for a number of major investments. Until now the enterprise has tended to specialise in demolition work and water-sewage installations. Energopol's order book this year includes contracts worth PLN 100m (€25.6m) and the company is vying to win further orders. In Q1-Q4 2009 the company achieved earnings of PLN 97.5m and a net profit of PLN 2.7m (€0.7m).
