Almost PLN 15m in EU funding for revamp of Olkusz old town

The Old Town in Olkusz in Malopolska voivodship is to be revitalised. The undertaking has been awarded an EU subsidy of PLN 14.8m (€3.8m).
The project will involve uncovering the contours of the old 14
th-century walls of the Town Hall, above which will be constructed a glass pavillion. A fountain together with new seats will be installed in the market square together with bike stands, advertising columns and notice boards. Moreover, the local authorities intend to redevelop the streets leading from the market square, build sanitary sewage and water-supply installations, lay new paving surfaces and erect street lights.
