Krakow city hall is planning to revitalise the area around Nowohucki Reservoir. The investment will be carried out as a public-private partnership project, Gazeta Wyborcza reported.
The plan is to revitalise part of the land located around the basin, which occupies an area 15 ha in size. The authorities also want to build a restaurant "on water" together with, among other things, a small amphitheatre, a pier, a seasonal cafe and parking facilities. The project will be carried out in collaboration with a private investor, which in exchange for the right to use the land around the reservoir will be responsible for clearing up the area and building the restaurant and recreational buildings. The city has just begun the search for the future concession holder, with which it would like to sign a contract before the end of the year. The deadline for submitting bids is 23 April. The private investor will have 12 months to complete the undertaking.
