2010-05-17
Over the next four years the authorities in charge of Okecie airport intend to carry out a series of investments worth in total approximately PLN 1.2bn (€300m), PAP reported
.
Projects on the agenda include the construction of a five-star hotel, office buildings and a conference-exhibition centre. In addition, the final touches are to be made to an underground railway station and the expansion of the terminal will be completed. Furthermore, there are plans to modernise the intersection of two runways and taxiways. The planned investments are in response to an anticipated jump in passenger numbers as a consequence of, among other things, Poland's presidency of the EU (2011), the Euro 2012 football championships and the world volleyball championships (2014).
