Hoteliers building not only for Euro 2012
2010-06-22
Investors are resuming construction of recreation and hotel centres, but they modify projects to ensure high occupancy rates also after the Euro 2012 football championship,
Rzeczpospolita reported.
More and more frequently, hotels are equipped with additional amenities, such as recreational facilities, as investors hope to attract guests during the off-peak season as well. Tourist season is fairly short, in the opinion of industry specialists cited by the daily
. That impact is particularly strongly felt by hotels located in areas far from the biggest tourist centres, including those in the Mazurian Lakes and Pomerania regions. One of the ways to extend the tourist season can be to offer hotel guests a variety of onsite facilities that can be used in all weathers. These facilities could be also used by non-guests.
However, market analysts emphasise that many typically recreational projects have been put on the back burner due to poor profitability. In such an event, industry experts suggest to modify hotel offering to match market needs. Currently, projects involving construction of hotel and recreation facilities are underway in Karpacz, Kolobrzeg, Swinoujscie, Krynica and Szczecinek. Amenities include spas, sports halls, golf courses, water parks, fitness rooms, gyms, beauty parlours and more.
