PLN 1.3bn worth of road damage
2010-06-24
This year's flood ran up a bill estimated at PLN 1.3bn (€324.2m) worth of damage to national roads, according to the information released by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA).
The greatest damage was done in Slaskie voivodship, Malopolskie voivodship and near Sandomierz (Swietokrzyskie voivodship), in GDDKiA's opinion. Mitigating the effects of the flood has cost PLN 16m (€4m) so far.
Roadwork projects interrupted in the wake of the flood are getting back on track. Despite slight delays, GDDKiA expects that key projects will be completed before Euro 2012.
