Poznan's office space market to grow on the back of Euro 2012?
2010-06-28
Poznan is one of the largest centres of commercial space in Poland. Investors in the Wielkopolska region expect that the market will develop in the coming years riding on the back of promotion for the Euro 2012 championships as Poznan will be one of the hosts for the games, as reported by
Puls Biznesu.
Poznan currently has a stock of around 200,000 m² of office space and 27,000 m² will be added to that figure by the end of the year. By the end of 2012 additional 90,000 m² of modern office space will be completed, according to plans.
H1 2010 has seen an increase in tenants' activity, partly due to improving sentiment among domestic and foreign investors, as emphasised by market analysts cited by the daily. Companies active in the BPO area, which are most frequently interested in leasing top class office space, willingly establish their offices in Poznan.
Poznan has created stable demand for office space for several years – an average of 20,000 m² is rented in the city on an annual basis. The ratio of vacant space is around 10%. To attract new investors, the city plans numerous projects with a view to improving the transportation and road system. These plans involve an upgrade of the railway station and the construction of a multimodal transport system and new tram lines.
