The company Polish State Railways (PKP) is planning to build a new station complex in Poznan. The task of carrying out the investment has been entrusted to the firm TriGranit, PAP reported.
The Integrated Transport Centre will contain a railway station approximately 7,000 m² in size, a bus terminal with at least 12 bus bays and a car park with room for up to around 900 vehicles. Furthermore, in the immediate vicinity of the station there are plans to build a 16,000 m² shopping centre, office buildings, a hotel and apartments. The total value of the project is estimated at roughly €160m. The undertaking is due to begin in H1 2011 and is expected to be finished by 2012, i.e. before the beginning of the Euro 2012 football tournament.
