Velux forecasts improved results in H2
2010-07-20
The board of the company
Velux Polska, which produces, among other things, roof windows, anticipates an upturn in results in the second half of the year,
Puls Biznesu reported. The branch sustained losses at the beginning of 2010, a consequence of the long winter and the flood, which led to the postponement of many planned construction investments. Recently, however, there has been an increase in new projects being launched, a situation which the company intends to exploit. Velux's results are also expected to be bolstered by sales of solar collectors, which are now expected to grow thanks to the June decision of the Environmental Protection and Water Management Fund to subsidise the purchase of such devices. Furthermore, Velux plans to renew its own programme for promoting energy-efficient construction solutions.
In terms of revenues the company ended 2009 as Poland's leading producer of window joinery. This was despite the fact that worldwide Velux actually suffered a 10% year-on-year drop in revenues to €2.1bn.
