New Warsaw viaducts will be cheaper than anticipated

The Warsaw City Road Investment Authority recently opened the bids in a tender to put up two viaducts on Marsa Street. The lowest bid turned out to be over PLN 30m (€7.5m) cheaper than was assumed in the investor's cost estimate, and the contractors declared that the investment could be completed within 18 months. The cheapest price was quoted by the firm
Intercor, which is willing to carry out the contract for PLN 71m (€17.7m).
The two viaducts will be erected over railway track in the neighbourhood of Warsaw-Goclawek station. In addition, a new carriageway will be marked out along Marsa Street and the old one refurbished. The undertaking will likewise entail refurbishing the intersection of Marsa, Zolnierska and Chelmzynska Streets.
