Budvar: exports accounting for bigger share of revenues
2010-08-03
Budvar Centrum, a producer of windows, is achieving higher sales on foreign markets and this growth is being translated into significant revenue growth for the company,
Parkiet reported.
Budvar has enjoyed higher revenues in the last few months than it did than during the corresponding period of 2009. This is in great measure due to improved exports. The company sells its products both in Southern and Western Europe. Foreign sales currently account for roughly 30% of its total income whereas several months earlier the percentage was around 20%. Budvar has also attracted more buyers for its windows on the domestic market, although in this case it is much more difficult to talk of significant growth.
Budvar's core product remains PVC windows, with over 30,000 units produced monthly. At the same time, however, Budvar is also steadily building up production of wooden windows, the majority of which are intended for foreign markets. The company is able to turn out more than 2,000 such units a month, although it is currently operating at only 30% of its capacity.
