Fewer flats completed in July

The Polish Central Statistical Office (GUS) announced that a total of 10,187 flats were completed for use in July 2010, which is 34.2% fewer than during the corresponding month of 2009. This total was also down 6.9% in comparison with June.
In July this year work began on 16,395 flats, i.e. 26.6% more than in July 2009 and 12.8% more than in June this year. On the other hand, the number of new construction permits issued in July 2010 compared with July 2009 was down by 0.5% and amounted to 16,640. In comparison with June this year, permits were up by 6.9%.
