A sports and entertainment arena planned for Krakow's Czyzyny district is to be built by a consortium headed by the company
Mostostal-Warszawa. The undertaking will require expenditure in excess of PLN 363m (€91.2m), PAP reported.
The centre will stand on the site of Lotnikow Polskich Park and will feature both permanent and moveable stands capable of holding up to 15,000 spectators. Besides sports meetings the arena will also host cultural events such as concerts and film showings. In addition, the complex will feature a spacious fair-exposition area. A contract with the contractor is to be signed in September and the arena itself should be finished by the spring of 2013.
