Work begins on new tram route in Bydgoszcz

A new tramway is to be built in Bydgoszcz, which will connect the city centre with the main railway station. The investment, slated to cost PLN 70.4m (€17.7m), will be carried out by a consortium headed by
ZUE, PAP reported.
The line will be 1,750 metres in length. Along the route the consortium will build, among other things, a suspended bridge over the River Brda that will be 70 metres in length and 14 metres wide. The deadline set for completing the investment is November 2012 and the project has been assigned over PLN 42.5m (€10.6m) in EU funding.
