PLN 282m in EU funding for water-sewage investments in Dabrowa Gornicza

Dabrowa Gornicza has been awarded an EU subsidy worth PLN 282m (€70.8m) to finance investments in water-sewage infrastructure.
The total budget needed for all the scheduled undertakings will come to around PLN 710m (€178.4m). The first stage of the investment will require outlays of PLN 513.5m (€129m) and involve building a 121 km sanitary sewer network and a 63 km drainage system as well as replacing 62 km of water pipes. Within the framework of the project as a whole the local authorities want to build 79 km of water pipes, a 7 km rainwater drainage network, pumping stations and waste water pressure pumping units. On the other hand, the Grupowa Oczyszczalnia Sciekow sewage plant in Strzemieszyce will be liquidated, 9 km of trenches modernised and 7 km of combined sewer pipes converted into a drainage system. The project as a whole is slated for completion by 2015.
