New investors in Lodz economic zone

Three more firms are to launch operations in the Lodz Special Economic Zone. They are preparing investments worth the combined sum of PLN 113m (€28.4m), which will create more than 90 new jobs.
The company
Eko-Region Kleszczow intends to put up a production plant in the Kleszczow subzone. The factory will convert organic waste into syngas, which can be used to power combustion engines as well as produce heat and electricity. The investment will require expenditure in the region of PLN 80m (€20.1m).
In turn, the biotechnology firm
Mobion will set up the zone's first research centre, which will carry out work on new generations of medicines. The undertaking will be located in Textorial Park in Lodz, and will cost an estimated PLN 20m (€5m). On the other hand, the company
Vertex is planning to put up a manufacturing unit in the Nowy Jozefow sub-zone that will produce packaging with 3D and visual animation elements intended for use for, among other things, the food and cosmetics branches. The investment will require outlays of roughly PLN 13m (€3.3m).
