Haston City Hotel is planning to put up a hotel building on Wroclaw's Irysowa Street. It will be a four-star hotel with 120 rooms and a seven-room conference centre. The complex will likewise include a restaurant, a bar, and a spa centre with saunas and jacuzzis. The hotel should be ready to welcome its first guests by the spring of 2011.

Seven of the nine bids submitted in a tender to build a power station in Kozienice announced by the concern Enea, have been approved. The investment is estimated to be worth approximately PLN 5bn (€1.3bn).

The company Liebrecht & wooD is to put up a shopping complex called Morski Park Handlowy on Gdansk's Przywidzka Street. The centre will have a total floor area of 50,000 m² and also include a car park with room for up to 1,500 vehicles. The project is set to cost around €50m and is due to be finished by the spring of 2011.

The Military Property Agency (AMW) has announced a tender for the sale of part of Twierdza Modlin fortress in Nowy Dwor Mazowiecki. No buyer was found for the real estate in previous tenders. The starting price is PLN 70m (€17.6m) net and the property is more than 53 ha in size. The land is covered by a local spatial development plan.

The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) has announced a restricted tender to carry out design, construction and modernisation work on national road No. 1 between Torun and Wloclawek. The investment will cost an estimated €20m and the fragment is 22 km in length. The contractor's task will be, among other things, to build a bridge over the River Tazyna and a railway viaduct. The work will take 20 months to complete from the day a contract is signed with the contractor.

The National Bank of Poland announced that the total value of all real estate loans granted to private customers in July 2010 declined by PLN 5.6bn (€1.4bn) to stand at PLN 245.8bn (€61.8bn). This was a consequence of changes in the zloty exchange rate. Zloty-denominated loans rose in value by PLN 2.4bn (€603m) in July. The yearly growth rate in real estate loans taken out for real estate purposes amounted to 21%, which is the highest increase since November 2009.

Six candidates have entered a tender to build Przemysl's eastern bypass. The investment will require a budget of approximately PLN 200m (€50.3m) and the bypass will be 4 km in length. The route will begin in the environs of the voivodship hospital and end at the confluence of Zana, Pola and Lwowska Streets. The most attractive bid in the tender was submitted by the company Mota-Engil.

On 26 August 2010 the construction firms Bilfinger Berger, Budimex, Hochtief, Polimex-Mostostal, Skanska and Warbud, on the initiative of the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians, signed a "declaration regarding an agreement on work safety in construction" – the purpose of the agreement is to implement a programme to reduce accident rates in the construction branch.

The UOKiK has given its consent for the company ABM Solid to take control of Przedsiebiorstwo Robot Inzynieryjnych Budownictwa. ABM Solid will buy shares representing 53.75% of the votes at the company's shareholders' meeting. PRIB specialises in the construction of pipelines, waste-water treatment plants and water treatment stations, as well as gas networks made from steel pipes. It also operates in road and bridge construction.

Sobet is hoping to transfer its shares from the NewConnect market to the official market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange in H2 2011. At the present time such a move is impossible – Sobet has a market value of approximately PLN 22m (€5.5m) and to enter the GPW market it will need capitalisation at a level of €10m. The company's senior management have not ruled out the possibility of a merger with another company, and is currently involved in preliminary talks on this issue.

Polish State Railways (PKP) intends to overhaul a railway station in Dzialdowo. The undertaking will involve upgrading the two-storey station, which has a total floor area of around 1,800 m². A tender has just been announced to choose a contractor for the investment and the deadline for submitting bids is 10 September this year.

Warsaw University has begun building a new library for its History Institute. The undertaking will involve erecting a two-storey edifice containing, among other things, a depository for 230,000 volumes, lecture halls, a reading room and an administration office. The building was designed by the studio Pracownia Architektoniczna BNS. The deadline for completing the construction work is July 2011.

Przedsiebiorstwo Budownictwa Przemyslowego Budus is planning a private share issue. The company intends to enter the NewConnect market and the issue will be organised by Rubicon Partners DM. Furthermore, there are plans to move the company to the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2011.

The company Murapol is to build a housing complex called Rozana Dolina on the corner of Obornicka and Reymonta Streets in Wroclaw. The building will contain 36 flats ranging in size from 55 to 141 m². The undertaking is slated for completion in Q3 2011.

Wroclawskie Przedsiebiorstwo Hala Ludowa is planning to overhaul the interior of a building within the framework of a project entitled "Centennial Hall in Wroclaw – Innovation Centre in Architecture and Construction”. An open tender has just been announced to choose a contractor to carry out the project. Bids will be accepted up to 1 October 2010. The investment is scheduled to get underway in January 2011 and is slated for completion in July 2011.

The GM of the company Marvipol has decided to issue up to 80,000 bonds convertible into shares with a value of up to PLN 80m (€20.1m), the company announced in a press release. The stock will be debenture bonds, and the purpose of the issue is to finance fresh investments. The company hopes in this way to attract financial investors, augment its pool of shares in regulated circulation, move to the official market and then have its shares listed on the stock market indices.
