Tender called for reservoir project in Raciborz

The Local Government Regional Water Management Board in Gliwice announced a tender to choose a contractor to build a flood control reservoir in Raciborz Dolny.
According to the project guidelines, the reservoir will have a holding volume of 185 million m
3 and the maximum height of the side dams will be 12.6 metres. The reservoir together with the existing Bukow polder will create a flood protection system for residents of the river valley from Raciborz up to Wroclaw. The tender will be an open procedure and will be carried out according to World Bank procedures. The investment will require estimated outlays of €223.8m, and financing for the undertaking will come from the state budget, EU sources, the World Bank and the Council of Europe Development Bank. The deadline for submitting bids is 27 October 2010.
