Tender in near future for power unit at Elektrownia Turow power plant

Polska Grupa Energetyczna plans to call a tender to build a power unit on the site of the Elektrownia Turow power station at the end of September or the beginning of October 2010, according to a company statement.
The unit will be fired with lignite coal and have a generating capacity of approximately 460 MW. In May this year the company signed a technical consulting contract with the firm Energoprojekt, which will be responsible for preparing the feasibility study as well as a report on the environmental impact of the investment and also for obtaining an environmental permit, preparing the construction design and providing technical advice on which contractor to choose for the power unit. In addition, the company has also chosen a legal-commercial consultant for the project, with whom a contract will be signed at the beginning of September. The consultant will advise the contracting party on the choice of which company to carry out the investment.
