LG beefing up plant in Wroclaw

LG Electronics is preparing to expand its factory in Wroclaw. The investment is intended to boost production of washing machines and fridges manufactured in Poland.
According to the plans announced by the concern, in 2011 it plans to enlarge its washing machine assembly plant. It will be equipped with a new production line, thanks to which output will rise to 700,000 units a year. In turn, in 2012 the company wants to increase its production of fridges - output will rise from around 300,000 units a year at present to 1.4 million units.
LG believes that by expanding its Polish plants and increasing production it will be able to satisfy demand on markets in Europe and North Africa.
