Clothing and footwear market in Poland increasing despite the crisis - August 2010

The economic slowdown we faced in 2009 has had a negative impact on the dynamic of the Polish market of clothing and footwear. However, in spite of the forecasts, the consumption did not grind to a halt, as confirmed by the results of the research we carried out for our latest report „Clothing and footwear retail market in Poland 2010. Market analysis and development forecasts for 2010–2012”.
According to the declarations of the representatives of clothing and footwear chains, nearly one half observed growth last year, while the revenues of 40% remained unchanged. Hypermarkets and online stores noted a rise in sales. Individual shops were mainly responsible for the slower growth dynamic.
